Standardized API to request and make available (meta)data.

Standardized API to request and make available (meta)data.

The aim of the principle of a standardized API to request and make available (meta)data is to promote data exchange and cooperation within the health domain.

The standardized API

  • Contains guidelines and standards for retrieving and making health data available, with specific requirements for the coding and modeling of the data.

  • Creates consistency and uniformity in the way data is exchanged.

  • Increases interoperability between systems, or makes it easier to share and use health data for research and innovation.

The standardized API will be based on international and national standards, such as HL7 FHIR, and will provide clear guidelines for the development and implementation of the APIs in the health domain.

With the agreementof a standardized API, Health-RI strives to improve the exchange of health data and to promote cooperation between different stakeholders. This will lead to better coordination of care, more insightful decision-making and an acceleration of research and innovation within the health domain.
